Tit for Tat or What the SRS Means by Faster, More Convenient and Cheaper

Latvian news portal ir.lv published an article “Tit for Tat or What the SRS Mean by Faster, More Convenient and Cheaper” written by Ingūna Ābele, Head of Tax practice at Primus Latvia.

It has been for years that the State Revenue Service (the SRS) has been using the same tactics aimed at collecting taxes to fulfil the tax revenue side and avoiding of any gaps in the budget as that would cast a shadow over the economic growth success story. Year on year, the SRS imposes a huge burden on businesses, including bona fide companies, in the form of disproportionally high tax surcharges that happen to be unjustified.

This is the way how the business environment is undermined in general, making operation of businesses overly complicated and actually denying them any future development prospects, and this far from facilitates the fight against fictitious companies and tax collection for the budget in general. Current activities of the SRS rather look like an increased fight against solvent companies.
